Cut Out Your Heart & Spit In The Hole

My current nonfiction project is a memoir titled Cut Out Your Heart & Spit In The Hole. It is a lyrical exploration of a surreal childhood and adolescence with a twin-like sister plagued by depression, anxiety, and a devastating eating disorder. Covering roughly seven years of both real and imagined life, Cut Out Your Heart & Spit In The Hole is a fractured and tragic coming-of-age story and deals with, among other things, sisterhood, rowing, art, masochism, anorexia and bulimia, American girlhood, love, cruelty, and really great music from the late 90s. I'm hoping to have a draft completed by Summer 2011.
